Zummo z40 just installed in the five star hotel’s new restaurant…

With large hotels, it’s often a trade-off between quantity and quality when it comes to orange juice – a low-yielding juicer just can’t keep up with the demand, especially at peak breakfast time. The Athenaeum is a beautiful family-run hotel opposite Green Park. Offering both rooms and apartments, it has also just launched its exciting new restaurant, run by Michelin-starred chef-restaurateurs the Galvin brothers.
The Galvin brothers are the first British siblings to gain a Michelin star each. Chris Galvin started out as Antony Worrall Thompson’s pot washer. His career includes London hotels The Ritz and The Lanesborough, and ten years with Conran. He gained his first Michelin star at the Orrery in 2000. Joined by brother Jeff, whose CV includes the role of Executive Chef at L’Escargot, the Galvins opened Galvin Bistrot de Luxe in Baker Street in 2005. Since then, they have launched numerous restaurants across London, as well as The Pompadour by Galvin and Galvin Brasserie de Luxe in Edinburgh’s iconic Caledonian.
Galvin at The Athenaeum is the latest restaurant from the Michelin-starred brothers. The menu sees them moving away from their usual French-inspired cuisine to a more British focus, showcasing fantastic home-grown produce. As you can imagine from a five star Mayfair hotel, the Athenaeum needed to offer their guests the most fabulous breakfast.
The new restaurant wanted to serve the freshest juice for breakfast, so contacted us to install a Zummo Z40 in their kitchen. The Athenaeum has a varied and mouth-watering breakfast menu; and juices and smoothies are an essential component of their healthy, high quality breakfast offer.
