Celebratory Glasses all around…

This month at Zummo London, we’re celebrating six years of working with the fabulous D&D London. D&D London is a group of luxury restaurants, bars and hotels, including such famous names as Quaglino’s, Le Pont de la Tour, and Chelsea’s Bluebird. We love their venues, so are proud and delighted to be their sole supplier of freshly-squeezed orange juice.

The group was founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the Ds of the title) in 2006. They now employ over 2,000 people in their 35 establishments, and have begun to extend their reach beyond London (Paris, New York, Tokyo, and closer to home, Leeds). D&D London has always believed in using the best ingredients – hence their decision to work with us to ensure that their orange juice is always fresh and 100% pure.

Here are some of D&D’s fantastic restaurants, where you can enjoy a freshly-squeezed glass of orange juice (or perhaps a cheeky cocktail), expertly squeezed by a Zummo London machine…

This glamorous Chelsea destination is much loved by both visitors and Londoners. This busy establishment comprises a restaurant, bar, cafe, courtyard, food store, wine cellar, bakery, and gorgeous private dining rooms. A real institution.

Quaglino’s in St James is a stylish establishment famous for its divine cocktails. Have a look at the cocktail list – and you’ll see how essential fresh juice is to this legendary restaurant.

Le Pont de la Tour

This luxurious restaurant is next to Tower Bridge (hence the name), and with its fabulous French cuisine deserves to become every bit as iconic as its neighbour! Its innovative Kiosk and Food Store is a beautifully informal place serving freshly squeezed juice and smoothies alongside crepes, salads, sandwiches, and other deli goods.

Coq d’Argent

It’s always wonderful to find an oasis in the City – and this rooftop restaurant at No.1 Poultry provides just that. With fantastic views and a relaxed lunchtime menu, this is a great place for a cool drink on a hot City day.

Another rooftop favourite, this time overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral. Aiming to “bring a slice of Manhattan” to London, it has a great cocktail list – made with the best fruit juice, naturally…

What a location. Skylon restaurant, grill, and bar are found on the third floor of the Royal Festival Hall, with panoramic views across the Thames. The restaurant is getting a great reputation for its excellent British menu – and again, it’s a much-loved place for cocktails…

German Gymnasium

This is a fascinating place. The German Gymnasium in King’s Cross was built in 1865 as England’s first purpose-built gym, funded by London’s German community, and used for the indoor events in the 1866 Olympics. It’s recently launched as a Mittel-European inspired restaurant to great acclaim.

We could go on – but it would make an incredibly long list! Other D&D establishments supplied by Zummo London include the Grand Cafe and Bar at the Royal Exchange, Plateau in Canary Wharf, the Michelin-starred South Place Hotel, and Angelica and Crafthouse in Leeds. All brilliant places, all completely individual, but all with the same passion for quality ingredients in exceptional locations.

So, thanks for a great six years, D&D, and let’s raise a glass (of freshly-squeezed juice, naturally) to the next six!
